At ANTEC Co., Ltd., we believe that protecting lives is not only about rescuing people once a fire has already spread – it’s about preventing disasters from the very first moment a flame appears.
Tragic real-life cases have shown that in many fires, not only trapped victims but also brave firefighters may lose their lives when a building collapses. If a fire is detected earlier, firefighting can begin before structural failure occurs – saving both those in danger and those who come to their aid.
However, most commonly used fire alarms today rely on heat or smoke sensors – devices that only react once flames are already intense and producing thick smoke, leading to delayed alerts. We call these “too-late sensors.”
The ANTEC Solution
Advanced UV Flame Detection Technology
We design, develop, and manufacture ultraviolet (UV)-based flame detection sensors – a technology capable of detecting flames as small as 2cm from 5–10 meters away and 1-meter flames from as far as 74 meters. This allows us to detect the “seed” of a fire before it turns into a disaster.
Why Outdoor Installation Matters
Statistics show that the leading cause of fires is arson or suspected arson – occurring suddenly, anywhere, to anyone. While we cannot eliminate malicious intent, we can defend ourselves by detecting the very first flame.
ANTEC’s outdoor UV sensors instantly recognize UV radiation from flames, even under direct sunlight – something most other fire detection technologies cannot achieve.
Since 2006, fire alarm installation has been legally required indoors only. But for complete protection, we must not overlook threats from the outside – where a fire can be started at any moment.
